When a hand causes a door to be opened, closed, latched or locked the function of the hardware is felt. However, when sensed only with the eyes your door hardware can make as bold a design statement as any of your architectural elements. Alternatively, when the function of the door is to be minimally invasive into the room the hardware can similarly be unobtrusive.
